Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the second meeting of the National Ganga Council held in Kolkata, West Bengal on Friday under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Prime Minister addressed the meeting virtually. The Chief Minister informed about the efforts being made for the cleanliness and purity of Ganga in Uttarakhand. The Chief Minister said that the state of Uttarakhand has done excellent work in various fields under the Arth Ganga model given by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2019 for the purpose of linking Ganga with livelihood and development. Remarkable works have also been done in the field of afforestation and tree plantation in the management area of Ganga.
The Chief Minister said that for the revival of Ganga’s tributaries in future, river-centred master plans are also being prepared for the old inhabited cities on the banks of the river with the cooperation of various departments. In the state of Uttarakhand, under the guidance of the National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG), some other projects have been proposed by N.M. CG have been sent to and some other proposals regarding tributaries are also being prepared.
