Uttarakhand : Joshimath landslide, CM Dhami arrived at Ground Zero to take stock of the situation, said – the government stands with the affected

The Chief Minister reached Joshimath on Saturday to take stock of the ground zero situation. During this, he interacted with the affected people here. Said that taking the affected to a safe place is their first priority. Earlier, the Chief Minister took a report from the officials regarding Joshimath. On Friday, he called a high-level meeting on the landslide issue in Joshimath. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has given instructions to immediately vacate the buildings built in danger zone due to Joshimath landslide. He assured the affected that the government stands with them and all will be shifted from vulnerable places in a phased manner.

The Chief Minister was reviewing the situation arising out of landslides in Joshimath at the State Secretariat. Dhami also interacted with the members of the expert team that went to Joshimath through video conferencing in the meeting. The Chief Minister directed the officials to set up a large temporary rehabilitation center at a safe place. He said that along with the immediate action plan, works like treatment, sewer and drainage of danger zones should be completed as soon as possible, ending the long process in long-term works. Said, simplification and quick action should be our biggest mantra in this.

Our plan of action on the Joshimath issue should be finalized as soon as possible. For us, the lives of citizens are most valuable. After receiving detailed reports from Secretary Disaster Management, Commissioner Garhwal Mandal and District Magistrate, the Chief Minister directed that all facilities for medical treatment should be available. There should also be preparations for air lift if necessary.
