Uttarakhand: Minister will give one month’s salary to the disaster affected, read what other decisions were taken in the Dhami cabinet regarding Joshimath

Several decisions have been taken in the cabinet meeting regarding the rehabilitation and relief package for the disaster affected people in Joshimath. A roadmap for the future of Joshimath was released today in a special cabinet meeting. The exercise of the government is to set up a new Joshimath on the lines of new Tehri.

These decisions were taken

▪️The cabinet approved the release of financial assistance of 45 crores

▪️The cabinet identified 05 places for rehabilitation

▪️The rate of rent for the affected families has been increased from Rs 4,000 to Rs 5,000.

▪️The cabinet increased the rent amount by one thousand.

▪️The ministers present in the cabinet decided to give one month’s salary to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.

▪️Minister to deposit one month’s salary in Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for Joshimath disaster affected.

▪️People living in relief camps will be given Rs 450 for one day’s food.

▪️If someone cooks food on his own instead of the relief camp, then he will also be given Rs 450 per person for one day.

▪️15 thousand rupees will be given per animal for displacement

▪️Four Rs 80 will be given for big animals and Rs 40 for small animals

▪️Electricity and water bills waived off for 6 months from the month of November

▪️Exemption for not repaying the loan taken from the co-operative bank for the next one year

▪️Will request the central government to ban the installment of commercial and government banks for one year

Decision regarding Joshimath

In the emergency meeting of the cabinet, it has also been decided to give ₹ 5000 rent instead of 4000 to the affected families. Five places have been selected for the rehabilitation of the affected families. Geological survey will be conducted at all the places. Maximum rent of ₹ 950 per day will be given in relief camps. The government is also working on preparing a compensation package on the basis of damage assessment and survey. The families which are to be displaced and rehabilitated will be given wages. ₹ 15,000 per animal will be given for displacement and ₹ 80 for large animals and ₹ 45 for small animals per day.

Six months electricity water bill of Joshimath residents waived

Along with this, in the emergency meeting of the cabinet, electricity and water bill has been waived for the next 6 months from the month of November. The loan taken from the government bank will be exempted for non-repayment for the next 1 year. It has been decided to give one month’s salary to all the ministers involved in the meeting. Eight institutes are conducting surveys to know the reasons for the landslide in Joshimath. After getting the survey report of all the institutes, the government will form a committee. The committee will take further decision on the survey report of all.
