BJP will implement Gujarat formula in Karnataka, CM Bommai may bid farewell

Today is the second day of the ongoing BJP executive meeting in Delhi. On the first day, i.e. Monday, the most talked about was the party’s winning formula in Gujarat. This model will be carried forward in Karnataka. Elections are to be held in Karnataka by May. Here former Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa is expected to return. PM Modi met Yeddyurappa for 15 minutes on the sidelines of the executive meeting on Monday.
As the elections draw near, Yeddyurappa’s importance in the party is increasing. He is also on the parliamentary board of the party. The support of the Lingayat community is with him. In Karnataka, the party can again make Yeddyurappa its face. On the other hand, Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai is embroiled in a border dispute with Maharashtra. Sources are telling that he may be farewell.
The leadership of the election states will have to be told – how will they win the elections
In today’s meeting, the leadership of the election states will also be tested. They have to tell the roadmap of their victory and what preparations have been made for it. The other important issue of the first day was the opposition’s negative campaign against BJP and PM Modi and use of indecent language.
The opposition’s aggressive approach on issues like Pegasus, demonetisation, ED, money laundering, Rafale and Central Vista project was also praised for dealing with it in a legal manner. The lesson learned from this is that without coming under the pressure of the opposition, we have to deal with it with full force.
Advice to the leadership of the states – do not be surrounded by the allegations of the opposition
Our source who was present in the meeting said- ‘A lot of time was given to talk about the process of dealing with the aggressive attitude of the opposition so that the heads of the poll-bound states keep their morale high. They should not be surrounded by any allegation of the opposition, but should be surrounded.
The high command had asked the leadership of the poll-bound states to draft the strategy for victory. The leaderships of Chhattisgarh and Karnataka started discussing their drafts, but were stopped midway and advised to fine-tune it. After this it was kept for discussion on January 17.
The strategy of the electoral states will be decided on the second day, the issues on which will be discussed
1. Suggestions will be given to amend the strategy of the electoral states, the leadership will tell what has been done so far to bring new voters together.
2. In Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh, where the Congress is in power, what has been done so far to destroy the opposition and what is the strategy going forward.
3. Karnataka, the gateway to the south, is very important, so what can be done not to save it, but to make it a model of the south like Gujarat.
4. One of the most important questions will be asked to the leadership of the states that if the elections are held today, where will they be able to stand, they will have to explain the logic of the number of seats they will give themselves.
5. There will also be a discussion on how the help of RSS and its affiliated organizations can be taken.
6. In Gujarat, the decision to release the convicts of gangrape victim Bilkis Bano became an election issue. It was believed that this led to polarization and Hindu voters were on one side. Every state can be instructed to make a list of such issues.
7. Suggestions will also be taken from the state for which star campaigner should go to which state. Although it will not be decided yet. A decision will be taken after brainstorming on the suggestion and taking the opinion of the high command.
Gujarat’s formula, which can be brought in election states
In the 2018 elections, Gujarat was saved from slipping out of the hands of the BJP. The party got only 101 out of 182 seats. In order that this does not happen in 2022, apart from Home Minister Amit Shah, PM Narendra Modi and National President JP Nadda, Union Ministers continued to hold rallies in the state. More than 150 public meetings were held 20 days before the elections. Of these, more than 35 were of PM Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. Meanwhile, decisions like the release of the culprits of the Bilkis case were taken.
According to the source, the feedback received from the rallies and public meetings held before August had expressed hope of victory, but some charisma was needed for the record victory. The acquittal of the convicts did the same thing. In Gujarat, the party set a new record by winning 156 seats. Earlier, Congress had won 149 assembly seats in 1985 under the leadership of Madhav Singh Solanki.
BL Santosh may get the responsibility of Karnataka
According to sources in Karnataka, the party will explore issues related to Hindutva in the states. By banning People’s Front of India i.e. PFI in Karnataka, BJP has played a big bet. This will also be promoted vigorously in the elections. Following the murder of Bajrang Dal leader Harsha and then BJP Yuva Morcha district secretary Praveen Nettaru in Karnataka’s southern district of Shivamogga last year, Hindutva organizations and youth workers of the party have been on the boil.
In such a situation, BJP will raise Hindutva issues to persuade its workers. BJP General Secretary BL Santosh is from RSS background, he can be given the responsibility of election campaign in Karnataka. G. was a strong leader of the party in the state. Janardhana Reddy is also a big challenge. He has formed a new party Kalyan Rajya Pragati Paksha (KRPP) and has announced to contest the elections.
Final decision on extension of term of National President Nadda
On the first day of the meeting, there was no discussion on extending the term of National President JP Nadda, but he definitely kept his progress card in front of everyone. The party is satisfied with Nadda’s tenure of 3 years. So it can be carried forward. However, it is almost certain that the top leadership will give a direct decision in the end, not a discussion.
Identification of 72 thousand booths, where BJP is weak, now focus on these only
In the executive meeting, brainstorming is going on for the assembly elections to be held in 9 states in 2023 and preparations for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. According to party leader Ravi Shankar Prasad, in the meeting, PM Modi has identified the weak booths and asked them to work firmly on them. The party has identified 72 thousand such booths. Till now the party has reached 1 lakh 32 thousand booths.
