5 died due to poisonous liquor in Bihar, condition of more than 10 is serious; 6 people lost their eyesight
Poisonous liquor has once again created havoc in Bihar which has banned liquor. In Siwan district, 5 people have died after drinking spurious liquor in the last 24 hours. The condition of more than 10 people is critical. Of these, 6 people lost their eyesight. It is being said that the death toll may increase.
All these cases are of Bala and Bhopatpur villages under Lakdi Naviganj OP police station area of the district. Suddenly patients started coming to Sadar Hospital one by one on Sunday evening. One person died while reaching the hospital late in the evening. Two more people died in the night. 2 people lost their lives on Monday morning. Social media and people of the village say that the death toll is more than 8. More than 70 deaths had taken place in Chhapra 41 days back.
The administration refused to say anything
The local people have spoken of drinking poisonous liquor. The administration has refused to tell anything yet. The family has been banned from talking to the media. There is an atmosphere of chaos in the whole village.
Collector Amit Kumar Pandey says that nothing can be said now. Something can be said only after the postmortem report comes. After all, why so many people are dying and why their health is bad, it is a matter of investigation. Police forces have been deployed at Siwan Sadar Hospital and Bala and Bhotpur villages following the incident. Talking to the relatives of the deceased has been banned. The relatives are avoiding saying anything.
Siwan’s DM Amit Kumar Pandey told that 3 people have died in Lakdi Nabiganj. Treatment of 7 people is going on. The cause of death will be known only after the post mortem report. 10 people have been arrested in the case.
Had come after drinking alcohol, his health deteriorated and his eyesight went away – the wife of the deceased
Sohela Devi, wife of the deceased Dhuredhar Manjhi, told that her husband had returned home after drinking alcohol on Sunday night. During this, his health started deteriorating. Eyes started turning red. He could not see. After this, the family took him to Lakdi Nabiganj Hospital.
From there he was sent to Siwan Hospital. After which he died in Amnaur while being taken to Patna at around 12 midnight. Dhuredhar has three small children. In which two daughters are Anisha (8), Nibha Kumari (12) and a 5-year-old son Ankush Kumar. After the death of the father, the children are in bad condition by crying.

There were more than 70 deaths in Chhapra, the government accepted 42
41 days ago, between 14 and 18 December, 70 people had consumed spurious liquor in Mashrakh and Isuapur areas of Chhapra district. Delay in reaching the hospital was also the reason for the deaths. However, the government had attributed only 42 deaths to spurious liquor. Taking cognizance, the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) is probing the deaths caused by spurious liquor. Meanwhile, four people died of spurious liquor in Siwan district as well. These deaths took place in Brahmasthan village under Bhagwanpur Haat police station area.
