The UP government fired bulldozers in Haridwar, angry saints announced – fast … will commit suicide
Saints of Bairagi Akharas opened a front against the encroachment removed from the Irrigation Department’s land in Haridwar on Monday. If not corrected, they will commit suicide by fasting.Sadhus and saints alleged that despite the High Court’s stay, the Irrigation Department has deliberately used bulldozers on the akhadas in the name of encroachment.
Saints and sages of Bairagi akhadas are now sitting on dharna. But no officer reached the Bairagi camp to take care of him. After the phone conversation, the sages and saints have given an ultimatum to the officials of the Uttar Pradesh government till the 13th.
Baba Hathayogi of Digambar Ani Akhara in Haridwar has said that if the vandalism done in the name of encroachment is not rectified then Uttar Pradesh Irrigation Department should be ready to answer it in the High Court and a complaint will also be made to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath .
Swami Rishishwaranand of Chetan Jyoti Ashram says that in the year 2021, the people here had filed a case in the High Court, on which a stay has been granted. There is a stay on the demolition of 700 houses here, but two-three days ago some officials from Uttar Pradesh came here and got the demolition started here.
When the saints approached them, the officials said that we have the right to give notice here, and then when the saints sent a copy of the stay order of the High Court, they accepted their mistake. Now the victims say that if the UP government does not build a boundary wall here, then certainly the saints will be forced to file an FIR against the Uttar Pradesh government.
Saint Govind Das of the Nirmohi Akhara says, “The officers of the North Irrigation Department have been given an ultimatum till the 13th. If he has made a mistake, he will make up for it. If not, then I was sitting on hunger strike even today. But the akhadas of saints said that let’s wait for a while. Let’s see his point. If I do right then it is fine, but if I don’t accept my mistake then I will sit on hunger strike. I will commit suicide along with sitting on hunger strike. This is my vow.
