Objectionable posters put up against PM Modi, 100 FIRs registered; Delhi Police arrested six people

Delhi Police has arrested six people for putting up objectionable posters against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. 100 FIRs have been registered in this regard. Special CP Dipendra Pathak told that there were no details of the printing press on the posters.

FIRs have been registered under Printing Press Act and Property Act. A van that came out from the office of Aam Aadmi Party was intercepted. Some posters were seized and arrests were made. Police has revealed that there was a plan to put up 50,000 posters in Delhi.

In fact, a few days ago, a poster war was started by the leaders and workers of some political parties in the capital Delhi against Prime Minister Modi. The Delhi Police, which swung into action after getting inputs about the posting of posters in this regard at various places in Delhi, has removed about 2,000 posters from the roadside walls.

According to the Delhi Police, posters with the title “Modi Hatao Desh Bachao” were also put up in some parts of Delhi. Special CP Dipendra Pathak said that Delhi Police has registered more than 100 FIRs, while six people have been arrested for putting up objectionable posters against PM Narendra Modi across the city.
However, there was no mention of the printing press or publisher on the posters. Police said FIRs have been registered in various districts across the city under sections of the Printing Press Act and the Misappropriation of Property Act. The Special CP also informed that a van was also stopped as soon as it left the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) office. Some posters were seized and arrests were made. Further investigation is on in the matter.

According to a senior police officer of the Delhi Police Headquarters, out of 100 FIRs registered so far in the poster scandal case, only 36 FIRs have been done regarding the poster of Prime Minister Modi. Rest of the FIRs are related to other posters, about which a formal statement will be issued by the Delhi Police after some time.
