Char Dham Yatra 2023 announced, doors of Gangotri Dham will open on April 22

The portals of Gangotri Dham will open on Akshaya Tritiya, Saturday, April 22, at 12.35 in the day. Today, on the auspicious occasion of Chaitra Navratri, the winter stay of Maa Ganga in Mukhwa (Mukhimath), 108 Gangotri Temple Committee, after offering prayers to Maa Ganga Bhagwati Durga, the date of opening of the portals of Gangotri Dham by learned acharyas-pilgrimage priests, after the calculation of Vidhi Vidhaan Panchag. And the time was fixed. And 108 Gangotri Temple Committee President and Teerth Purohit Harish Semwal and Temple Committee Secretary / Teerth Purohit Suresh Semwal formally announced the date of opening of the doors.

Suresh Semwal, secretary of the temple committee, said that on this occasion, the program for the departure of Maa Ganga’s festival doli to Dham was also decided. On Friday, April 21, Maa Ganga’s Utsav Doli will ceremoniously depart from Mukhimath with the army band and reach Bhairavnath ji’s temple for migration to Bhairon Valley. On April 22, Mother Ganga’s doli from Bhairon Valley will reach Gangotri Dham by 9.30 am and on April 22, at 12.35 pm, the doors of the Gangotri temple will be opened for the devotees.

Temple Committee President Harish Semwal, Secretary Suresh Semwal, Treasurer Mahesh Semwal, Umesh Semwal, Mandrachal Semwal, Girish Semwal, Vasudev Semwal were present on the occasion of fixing the date of opening of the doors.

It is noteworthy here that the doors of Mother Yamuna also open on the day of Akshaya Tritiya. On the occasion of Yamuna Jayanti, the date and time of opening of the doors will be duly announced. The doors of Badrinath Dham will open at 7.10 am on April 27 and Kedarnath Dham on April 25 at 6.20 am for the devotees to visit.

Chardham Yatra Administration Organisation’s Special Officer/Additional Commissioner Garhwal Narendra Singh Quiriyal told that all departments in the Char Dham have been asked by Garhwal Commissioner/Chairman Travel Administration Organization Sushil Kumar, District Magistrate Chamoli, Rudraprayag to complete the travel related preparations and work by April 15. And instructions have been given to Uttarkashi. Arvind Kumar Srivastava, Personal Assistant of the Yatra Administration Organisation, said that as per the guidelines of the government, necessary passenger facilities are being arranged at the Chardham Yatra Transit Camp in Rishikesh before the Chardham Yatra.
