Tamilnadu: IPS officer broke the teeth of the accused in jail, CM said – suspend
The police officer who mercilessly thrashed 5 jailed accused in Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu, has been suspended. The matter is of Ambasamudram area. In fact, the ASP of the police station, Balveer Singh, was accused of not only brutally beating the accused. Rather, their teeth were also uprooted. Also hurt the private part of one of the accused.
The matter came to light when one of the accused, Chellappa, made a video of the incident and uploaded it on social media. He told that 12 days ago he and his companions had a fight with a group.
Lathis and sticks were used from both sides and there was a fight. Meanwhile, someone informed the police about the incident. Chellappa told that the police arrested me and 5 other people and brought them to the police station. Here in the police station, ASP Balveer Singh beat us mercilessly.
Chenappa said, “The ASP pulled out my teeth. They put stones in my brother’s mouth. His private part was also attacked. Because of which my brother’s condition is now serious. Apart from me, the teeth of 4 other accused were also uprooted.
He told that the ASP did not stop here. They threatened us not to say anything about this to anyone. Chenappa told that apart from the ASP, two more policemen also assaulted us. When the matter reached the top, CM MK Stalin himself instructed to suspend ASP Balveer.
