England women’s football team won Finalissima title, defeating Brazil in penalty shootout
England won the first-ever Women’s Finalsima football tournament after beating Brazil 4-2 in a penalty shoot-out in a thrilling match. England has not lost in the last 30 matches. Chloe Kelly’s goal during the shootout saw England crowned champions as some 83,132 fans celebrated at Wembley Stadium here.
Clough also scored in the Euro 2022 final at Wembley last year. England goalkeeper Mary Earps contributed to the team’s victory by saving a penalty during the shootout.
England’s Ella Toon gave England an early lead in the 23rd minute and took a 1-0 lead in the first half. Then in the second half, it seemed that the hosts would win the title with this score, when the Brazilian substitute Andressa Alavés equalized the match by scoring a goal in injury time (90+3rd minute).
Extra time was used to decide the result of the match, but both the teams could not score any goals. After this, the England team won in the shootout.
