The police department lost lakhs in bringing Atiq-Ashraf

The police department is spending lakhs of rupees in bringing Mafia Ateeq from Sabarmati Jail, about thirteen hundred kilometers away, to Prayagraj and back. The policemen are facing trouble, that is different. Similarly, the police department has to spend lakhs of rupees in bringing Ashraf from Bareilly jail and bringing him back.

It is discussed that because of these two mafia brothers, the Prayagraj police has lost more than Rs 25 lakh in the last month. Atiq Ahmed has been lodged in Sabarmati Jail in Gujarat, away from UP, on the orders of the Supreme Court in June 2019. Similarly, after his arrest in July 2020, his brother Ashraf has been kept in Bareilly Jail, about 450 kilometers away.

Both the brothers were brought to Prayagraj on March 27 and kept overnight in Naini Jail for appearance 16 days ago during the pronouncement of the court’s verdict in the Umesh Pal kidnapping case. Then on March 28, after appearing in the court, he was sent back to Sabarmati and Bareilly Jail. Now the police team has brought both of them from Bareilly and Sabmarti Jail after taking B warrant in Umesh Pal murder case.

The prison van runs on an average of five kilometers in one liter of diesel. About 95 thousand rupees diesel was used in two prison vans for bringing and returning. More than Rs 40,000 was spent in two small vehicles on an average of Rs 12 per kilometer. That is, more than one lakh 35 thousand rupees were spent on vehicles in fuel in one trip.

If the salary and traveling allowance of 35 policemen including one deputy SP, two inspectors on security duty are also added to this, then it is more than six lakh rupees. In such a situation, in the movement between Sabarmati and Prayagraj, the police department is spending more than eight lakh rupees in the name of Atiq. For Ashraf, the cost of one round is more than three lakh rupees.
