Health department issued health advisory for the health of the passengers for Chardham Yatra 2023

All the pilgrimage sites in Chardham Yatra are located in the high Himalayan region, whose height is more than 2700 m above sea level.
ImTravelers in those places experience extreme cold, low humidity, extreme ultra violet radiation, low air pressure and low
Can be affected by the amount of oxygen. Therefore, the following guidelines (Health Advisory) are being issued for the smooth and safe journey of all the pilgrims.
Before travel
Planning, Preparing, Packing A focus on prevention can help you stay safe on your trip. Please ensure medical and track preparation prior to your visit. It is important to plan, prepare, and pack for the high altitude sickness can cause. 0 planning
▪️Plan your trip for at least 7 days, allow time for acclimatization
▪️Practice breathing exercises for 5-10 minutes daily Walk 20-30 minutes daily
▪️If the passenger is 55 years of age or has a history of heart disease, asthma, high blood pressure, or diabetes,
▪️So get a health checkup done to ensure fitness for travel
To pack
▪️Warm clothing: Woolen sweater, dharms, puffer jacket, gloves, socks, rain gear, raincoat, umbrella
▪️Health Checkup Equipment Pulse Oximeter, Thermometer For passengers with pre-existing conditions (Heart Disease, Hypertension, Asthma, Diabetes) –
▪️Carry all necessary medicine, test equipment and the contact number of your home doctor.
▪️Please check the weather report before your trip, and make sure you have warm enough clothes to manage in the cold temperatures
▪️If your doctors advise against traveling, please do not travel.
During travel

▪️If you or any member of your family is feeling any of the following symptoms
▪️Please go to the nearest medical unit immediately. A quick test can save your life.
Chest pain
▪️Shortness of breath (difficulty talking) persistent cough
▪️Dizziness/disorientation (difficulty walking)
▪️Vomit
▪️Icy/cold skin
▪️Weakness/numbness on one side of the body
▪️High altitude can cause serious diseases. One minute of care can save your life.
Special care should be taken for these passengers:
Passengers aged 55 years Travelers with a history of heart disease, hypertension, asthma, and diabetes who are obese (> 30 BMI)

▪️ Do not consume alcohol, caffeinated drinks, sleeping pills and strong/powerful painkillers during the journey, also avoid smoking.
▪️ Drink at least 2 liters of fluids during the journey and eat nutritious food.
