Former minister’s daughter had complained to the Supreme Court
In fact, YS Vivekananda Reddy’s daughter Sunitha Reddy, through her advocate Siddhartha Ludhra, had objected to the Telangana High Court’s decision in front of the CJI, in which the High Court had ordered MP YS Avinash Reddy to appear before the CBI in such a way that he Be a house guest. In this case, the MP’s father and another accused have been arrested. While the MP was given a notice under section 160 of the Code of Criminal Procedure. Under this section, the police officer has the power to summon any witness.
Advocate Siddharth Ludhra said that the MP approached the High Court as soon as he received the notice. He was instructed to appear before the agency. But when he reached the High Court again, showing friendly behavior with him, passed an order prohibiting the arrest of the MP, in which the CBI was instructed to interrogate the MP daily between April 19 and 25, but the questions asked They will be given to the MP in writing in advance. According to the instructions of the Supreme Court, the recording of the inquiry should also be done. The High Court has fixed the next hearing of the case on April 25. Further orders will be given after going through the CBI report that day.
The CJI asked the MP’s lawyer Ranjit Kumar in a stern tone that what kind of order is this. Then he said that this cannot be tolerated. However, the MP also got some relief from the Supreme Court. His arrest has been stayed till Monday. The CJI will hear again on April 24.
Former minister was murdered in 2019, CBI is investigating
Vivekananda Reddy was a Congress leader and former minister. In 2019, he was found dead at his home in Cuddapah. Vivekananda was the brother of former Andhra Pradesh CM YS Rajasekhara Reddy. First SIT investigated this matter but then this case went to CBI in 2020. Last Sunday, the CBI arrested the MP’s father YS Bhaskar Reddy. To avoid arrest, the MP approached the High Court.
