Will khap panchayats become ‘shield’ of former governor Satyapal Malik, ultimatum given to central government

‘Satyapal Malik’, who was the governor of four states including Jammu and Kashmir, sat at the RK Puram police station in Delhi for about two and a half hours on Saturday. The police had made it clear that the former governor had not been arrested. Malik’s supporters claim that representatives of several khaps from Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan and western Uttar Pradesh gathered outside the RK Puram police station. These representatives said, if the central government tries to do anything wrong with Malik, it will have to face serious consequences.

Omprakash Kandela, head of the all-caste Kandela Khap, said, Malik has fearlessly raised his voice in the interest of the country, society, farmers, poor and laborers. The bold work like removal of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir was completed while he was the Governor. All Khaps and Kisan Jathedari are standing shoulder to shoulder with Satya Pal Malik. At present, the Khap representatives have given an ultimatum to the Central Government to fulfill several demands related to Satyapal Malik. If the government does not accede to these demands, massive protests will be held in different parts of the country.

These demands have been placed before the central government

Former Governor Malik should be given all those facilities which were snatched away by the central government as per the constitution. Therefore, Satyapal Malik has done a bold act of removing Article 370, due to which his life is in danger. They should be provided with Z plus security. If there is any attack on Malik, it will be the responsibility of the Government of India. The country will not sit quietly in the event of an attack. Along with the facts, the serious allegations made by Malik on the Central Government, a committee of two members each from the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court and the opposition parties should be formed and an impartial inquiry should be conducted. If the government does not fulfill these demands, then all the Khap Panchayats will decide the future course of action. A demand letter will be handed over to the President in this regard.

Dalbir Singh Bibipur, head of Naugama Khap, who came from Haryana’s Jind district, said, the central government is deliberately troubling Malik. The central government is troubled by the revelations made by Malik regarding the Pulwama attack. The country wants to know the truth about the sacrifice of 40 CRPF soldiers. Malik has made a big disclosure about the Pulwama attack, he has been linked to the security forces. Leela Chapra, deputy head of Khatkhar Khap, said, Malik had raised his voice in support of farmers while holding the post of governor. Even after that, he has been continuously speaking in favor of the farmers. The central government and the BJP are not liking these things. The central government puts ED and CBI behind its opposition leaders. Now the same thing is happening with Malik. The peasantry stands shoulder to shoulder with Malik. If the government takes any wrong step regarding Malik, the farmers across the country will not hesitate to protest against the Centre.
