Uttarakhand: Chair 4 is vacant, many claimants to become minister, on whom will Dhami agree? question remains

After the demise of cabinet minister Chandan Ram Das, four chairs including one more ministerial post have become vacant in Uttarakhand’s Dhami government. Which CM Dhami will have to fill in the coming days. Seven faces holding the post of minister

Satpal Maharaj, Premchand Agarwal, Ganesh Joshi, Dhan Singh Rawat, Subodh Uniyal, Rekha Arya, Saurabh Bahuguna are holding the post of seven ministers in the Dhami government of Uttarakhand. Among them, Satpal Maharaj from Garhwal division, Dhan Singh Rawat from Pauri district, Subodh Uniyal from Tehri, Ganesh Joshi, Premchand Agarwal from Dehradun, Rekha Arya from Kumaon division from Almora district and Saurabh Bahuguna from Udham Singh Nagar district of Terai.

In this way only three districts of Garhwal and two districts of Kumaon division have got representation in the cabinet. There are still four seats left in the cabinet. The districts awaiting representation include Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Haridwar, Pithoragarh, Bageshwar, Nainital districts. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami himself is representing Champawat district. After the demise of Chandanram Das, the representation of Bageshwar district has also ended.

Decision can be taken in view of elections

Now in such a situation, which face gets representation from which district for the cabinet minister. This may have to wait for now. However, in view of the civic and Lok Sabha elections, the government may take a decision on this soon. Only a Dalit face can be given a chance on a seat vacated after the death of Chandan Ram Das. Along with this, old veterans and senior MLAs can get a chance once again in the Dhami cabinet.
