Uttarakhand / Nainital: Man selling ice cream caught and chewed by a snake, case registered under Wildlife Act

In Nainital, while removing the encroachment from the railway side in Nagina Colony, a young man chewed a snake. When its video went viral, the forest department challaned the young man under various sections of the Indian Wildlife Act. He was later arrested. According to the information, on Saturday, a campaign to remove encroachment was conducted by the Railways in Nagina Colony area. Meanwhile, when the house of Kamlesh Mahto was broken with Poklen machine, a snake came out from the wall. Kamlesh caught the snake in anger and chewed it with his teeth and injured it. People standing nearby made this incident viral.

The video is becoming very viral on social media, in which a person selling ice cream is seen holding a snake in his hand. The person making the video asks him to bite the snake while provoking him. The person selling ice cream takes the snake in his mouth, bites it and spits it out. After this the person throws the snake away but after prodding, he again picks up the snake and pours cold drink on it and starts chewing it. Some people are making videos of this, as well as inciting the person to bite the snake with his mouth. . This video is now being shared widely on social media.

Taking cognizance of the viral video, Forest Officer Chandan Singh Adhikari of Terai East Forest Division, Gaula Range, arrested Kamlesh Mahato from Nagina Colony. He told that further action will be taken by presenting the accused in the court.
