Messi showed a great game in the match. It was Messi’s 496th goal in league matches in Europe, breaking Cristiano Ronaldo’s record for most goals in Europe’s top five leagues. The Argentine footballer has registered 496 goals in 577 matches, while the Portuguese legend has 495 goals in 626 matches across Europe’s top five leagues.
PSG won 11th Ligue 1 title
Lens beat Ajaccio 3–0 in another match to ensure their second place. With this, he also confirmed his place in the Champions League to be held next season. PSG left behind former French giants Saint-Étienne, who won their 10th and last title in 1981. Saint-Étienne had been relegated to the second division the previous year.
