Uttarakhand: Drinking water scheme of lakhs of 4 districts got approval, Chief Secretary Sandhu took meeting of Expenditure Finance Committee

Under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Dr. SS Sandhu, a meeting of the Expenditure Finance Committee was organized at the Secretariat on Monday. During the meeting, water supply scheme costing Rs 500.32 lakh in Ring Road, Dehradun Municipal Corporation area, Ladpur district under state sector, Banbasa city water supply scheme costing Rs 946.63 lakh in Champawat district under Amrit-2 scheme, Satpuli drinking water costing Rs 2556.38 lakh in district Pauri. Plan and reconstruction works of Gauchar drinking water scheme costing 3245.00 lakh in district Chamoli were approved.

Chief Secretary Sandhu instructed to prepare master plans for entire cities for drinking water schemes. He said that due to this there will be no problems in connecting the new scheme and the old scheme in the coming times. He said that a mechanism should be developed to keep the sources stable in drinking water schemes. He also instructed to ensure provision of connections etc. under the Song Dam gravity-based scheme to be started in the future in the water supply scheme of Ladpur area in Dehradun district.

CS SS Sandhu said that for the connection given to the general public, the minimum charge should be collected by the Jal Sansthan along with the bill in easy installments. He gave instructions to compulsorily install meters under all the schemes. Said that this will reduce the misuse of water. Secretary Arvind Singh Hyanki and Additional Secretary Udayraj Singh and other departmental high officials were present on the occasion.
