Uttar Pradsh: UP Board will go to Supreme Court against order in case of name change, legal advice is being taken
The UP Board will go to the Supreme Court against the Allahabad High Court’s order to change the name of a person and issue a new certificate of High School and Intermediate. For this the board officials are taking legal advice from the advocates. Board officials say that there is no such provision in the Board’s Act. In such a situation, the board will file a petition in the Supreme Court against the order.
According to the provision recorded in the UP Board Act, the name and date of birth of any candidate can be changed within three years of the release of the result of the board examination. For this, it is necessary that the candidates apply for the change of name or date of birth in the board with the correct and necessary documents. The board makes changes after checking the documents. For this, other documents including TC of previous class have to be submitted along with the application.
Regarding the order of the High Court, an official of the Board said that there is no such provision in the Act of the Board. In such a situation, the board will go to the Supreme Court against the order of the High Court. The act has been made so that no one can misuse it.
40 thousand cases of name change pending, board will organize camp from 12
40 thousand cases of change of name, date of birth etc. are pending in the UP Board. The board will set up camps in each district from June 12 to settle these matters. For this, instructions have been issued by Board Secretary Divyakant Shukla to all regional offices. The responsibility of the camp will be on the DIOS of the respective districts. By disposing of such cases, the board is preparing to clear its backlog. Talking about the examination year 2023, so far only two percent revision cases have been reported in this examination. Continuous work is being done to get rid of them.
