Uttar Pradesh / Lakhimpur Kheri: Husband cut off wife’s nose for girlfriend, then absconded keeping it in his pocket, police arrested

A case has come to the fore of a man from Banstali village of Mitauli area of Lakhimpur Kheri, UP, harassing his wife on the day he came. According to information, Vikram used to beat his wife every day and on Friday his anger increased so much that he cut off wife Seema’s nose with his teeth and escaped from the spot keeping her nose in his pocket. The woman was admitted to the hospital in critical condition. Seema Devi, who lives in Banstali, told the police in Tahrir that her four-year-old daughter Shobhi was watching mobile at around eight o’clock on Friday night. Husband was asking for mobile. But when the daughter did not give the mobile, Vikram got angry and started beating the daughter. When Seema tried to save the daughter, he started beating her too.
After beating him, Vikram bit off Seema’s nose and ran away keeping the severed nose in his pocket. The victim informed on Dial 112 in the night itself. He was taken to Mitauli CHC for treatment. From where he was referred to the district hospital. In the morning Seema along with her parents reached Mitauli police station and filed a complaint.
The victim told that it has been almost 12 years since the marriage. Since marriage, Vikram has illicit relationship with another woman. On opposing this, Vikram beats him every day. Her husband harasses her on the pretext of having an affair with another person. Reconciliation agreements were also made several times. But it was of no use.
At the same time, the police arrested the accused husband and presented him in the court, from where he has been sent to jail. Regarding this matter, Lakhimpur’s CO City Sandeep Singh told that in Banstali village of Mitauli police station area, the husband attacked his wife and cut off her nose. After registering a case, the husband has been arrested and sent to jail and the matter is being investigated.
