A retired old man from the bank gave his heart to a woman 18 years younger than himself in the first meeting itself. The rounds of meetings increased and with this the old man’s love for the woman also reached the point of marriage. Meanwhile something happened that the matter reached the police station.
Decided to get married so don’t have to spend my life alone
The woman extorted an amount of Rs 80 lakh from the elderly in the name of getting a plot and sometimes a house. When the wedding day came near, the woman switched off her number and ran away. Khushiram (63), a resident of Patel Nagar, got a case registered against a woman named Preeti Rawat (43) in desperation. According to the information, Khushiram retired from the bank in September 2021. Khushiram was divorced from his first wife before retirement. He decided to get married so that he did not have to spend his life alone.
The elderly woman met after an advertisement. The old man had advertised for marriage. Seeing the advertisement, a woman named Preeti Rawat contacted him. Preeti had told her age as 43 years and said that she is a property dealer. The first meeting of the two took place in December 2021 at a mall near ISBT. The woman had described herself as a divorcee.
Marriage was decided in the very first meeting
In the very first meeting, both had decided to get married. Both of them talked for a few days. Meanwhile, the woman demanded Rs 20 lakh from Khushiram to buy the plot. Within three to four days, he also returned this amount to Khushiram. After this, Khushiram’s faith in the woman increased. After a few days, once again the woman demanded money from Khushiram. The woman had won Khushiram’s trust. That’s why he gave money to Preeti.
Woman absconded with lakhs of rupees
From December 2021 to May 2022, Khushiram deposited a total of Rs 70 lakh in the women’s accounts. But when Khushiram would ask her address, she would sometimes tell Canal Road and sometimes Jakhan. On this, when the woman demanded 10 lakh rupees from Khushiram, the old man refused. But after some time, coming to Preeti’s words, the old man gave her this amount as well.
At the behest of the woman, the old man also bought a flat. In the flat, both of them started dreaming of living in it after marriage. The date of marriage has been fixed on October 5, 2022. Khushiram reached the temple after making complete preparations for the marriage. But Preeti did not reach the temple till evening. Khushiram made many calls to Preeti. But the woman did not answer. Later in the evening, the woman also switched off her mobile.
Fraud case filed against woman
According to the information, Inspector Suryabhushan Negi said that on the complaint of Khushiram, a case of cheating has been registered against a woman named Preeti Rawat alias Nisha Pundir.
