Fraud with the doctor of KEM Hospital

A doctor living in Mumbai ordered 25 samosas and about one and a half lakh rupees were emptied from his account. The case is of Sion area of Mumbai. A doctor working in KEM Hospital has filed a report in this matter at Boiwala police station. According to the doctor, he had ordered samosas online at around 8:30 am on Saturday, but he did not know that Rs 1.40 lakh would be deducted from his account for 25 rounds of samosas.

Doctor asked to pay 1500 advance

The doctor told that on Saturday he was going to go on an outing with some of his friends. During this, ordered samosas to eat on the way. The doctor found the number of a restaurant online and ordered 25 samosas along with some other food items. When the doctor called on that number, the person answering asked him to make an advance payment of Rs 1,500. The doctor then received a WhatsApp message, which contained the order confirmation and the bank account number to send the money online. The doctor sent Rs.1500.

Money deducted from doctor’s account within a few seconds

After this, the person from the restaurant on the other side said that a transaction ID has to be created for payment. After listening to the person, the doctor did as told, but within a few seconds the first Rs 28,000 was deducted from the doctor’s account. Then the money was deducted three to four times by doing 10000. They didn’t understand what was happening. Overall, there was a loss of Rs 1.40 from the doctor’s account. On the complaint of the doctor, a case under IPC and Information Technology Act provisions has been registered at Bhoiwada police station. He said that further investigation is going on in this matter. The matter is being told of last week.

  • Instead of paying the bill through the link, pay online through the method provided in the app.
  • After the order, a call comes from an unknown number and if any detail is asked, then refrain from giving it.
  • If you are ordering from the restaurant through the website, then check it properly, order from there only after being completely satisfied.
