Uttarakhand: Union Health Minister and Chief Minister inaugurated Cath Lab, now heart and cancer diseases will be examined in Doon Medical College, Dhami expressed gratitude

Union Health Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya and Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated digital radiography and mammography along with the first government cathlab at Doon Medical College on Thursday.

Describing Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami as a capable Chief Minister, Union Health Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya in his address said that under his able leadership new paradigms of development are being established in the state along with health facilities in other areas as well. He said that people from all over the country come here for the Chardham Yatra in the state. Everyone has faith in this region of Ganga. He said that the kind of health arrangements made by the Government of India for the Amarnath Yatra, similar health facilities and other arrangements have been made for the Chardham Yatra also due to the efforts of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. He said that the state government is working fast for the development of the state. All possible help will be provided by the central government in the development works of the state government. He said that Uttarakhand is moving ahead with the development works being done in the state and is playing an important role in the development of India.

The Union Health Minister said that till two decades ago there was only one AIIMS for 100 crore people of the country, but today AIIMS established in Rishikesh is providing excellent health facilities to one crore people of Uttarakhand, similar to the facilities of Delhi AIIMS. He said that if any country has to become a developed country, then it is necessary that the citizens of that country should be healthy, if the citizens are healthy then the society becomes healthy and only a healthy society can build a prosperous nation.

The Union Health Minister said that in the last 8-9 years, the changes taking place in the country are clearly visible under the able guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In America, where the then President Obama did the work of providing health security to 100 million people, in India, Prime Minister Modi has provided free treatment facility of up to 5 lakhs to 120 million people of the country under the Ayushman Bharat scheme. Today, rich and poor are getting equal health facilities in hospitals. Earlier people had to take loans from moneylenders for treatment, today their treatment is being done free of cost, Ayushman Bharat is an example of the responsibility of the government. About 70 thousand students of the country have been going abroad for medical studies. Before 2014, there were 54 thousand medical seats in the country, this number has doubled in the last year. 700 medical colleges have been established in the country, 157 nursing colleges have been made. From AIIMS Rishikesh, the facility of fluid and sample testing has been made through drones. Services of specialist doctors are being made available in telemedicine.

He expected that more and more suggestions would come from all the states in this two-day Swasthya Chintan Shivir, which would be helpful in further strengthening the health facilities. E-Sanjeevani telemedicine services are being provided through mobile app to provide health facilities to common citizens at home. E-Sanjeevani services are a great gift for the patients of remote hilly areas. Jan Arogya Abhiyan “Ek Kadam Swasthya Jeevan Ki Aur” is being organized through the Health and Wellness Center to provide health benefits to the general public in their areas. The state government has set a target to make the state free from tuberculosis by the year 2024. Work is being done on the ground to achieve this goal. The Chief Minister said that the state government, under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is working in the direction of spreading public awareness to prevent diseases, providing cheap and effective treatment to the poor, increasing the quality and quantity of health infrastructure and health care professionals in the state.
