Uttarakhand: CM Dhami gave instructions to take strict action against tax evaders

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has given instructions to speed up the revenue collection to increase the income of the government and to act very strictly against tax evasion. He emphasized on increasing vigilance to prevent power theft. In the review meeting held at the State Secretariat regarding revenue growth, it was revealed that the government has achieved 32 percent of the target set for the current financial year in four months. The Chief Minister instructed all the departments to work with alertness, full activeness and coordination to increase the revenue. He should get the action taken report on the decisions taken in this meeting before the next meeting.
He also suggested innovative efforts to be made along with strengthening the online system to make the process of revenue collection effective. Cabinet Minister Premchand Aggarwal, Chief Secretary Dr. SS Sandhu, Additional Chief Secretary Radha Raturi, Principal Secretary RK Sudhanshu, Secretary R.K. Meenakshi Sundaram, Dilip Jawalkar and the District Magistrate were also connected through virtual medium.
A portal should be made to check the progress of regular recovery
The Chief Minister instructed the officers that a portal should be created for regular monitoring of revenue collection. Data of revenue collection of various departments should be uploaded on this. This will solve the problem of visible difference in the figures of revenue collection in the Revenue Council.
‘Increase revenue in Doon, Haridwar, USnagar and Nainital’
The Chief Minister expressed the need for further improvement in the performance of Dehradun, Haridwar, Udham Singh Nagar and Nainital districts in terms of revenue collection. The Chief Minister instructed all the District Magistrates to speed up the process of revenue collection. For this, regular meetings of the committee formed in the districts should be conducted.
Instructed to stop electricity theft
CM instructed UPCL and UJVNL to make special efforts to increase revenue. Continuous vigilance-based activities should be carried out in areas prone to power theft and special attention should be paid towards increasing billing efficiency in areas with high industrial demand.
Efforts should be made to promote industries in the mountain
The CM said that efforts should be made to promote industries in the hilly areas of the state. Said that investors will be encouraged to invest in hilly areas in the Investor Summit. All the District Magistrates should see which areas of their districts have more possibilities of investment. The Chief Minister directed that the grant received from the Central Government should be expedited.

Status of revenue growth in figures till July
- Recovery of 7928 crores against the target of 24745 crores
