Cold increased due to snowfall in Badrinath-Kedarnath, devotees danced after seeing snowfall, many roads closed due to continuous rain

The first snowfall of the season occurred in Badrinath-Kedarnath. Devotees were thrilled to see the high Himalayan regions covered with a white blanket of snow. It started becoming very cold in the Dham and the cold started increasing in the lower areas also. On the other hand, due to continuous rain, the difficulty on Badrinath Highway has increased. Due to rain late on Saturday night, there was snowfall on the high peaks of Badrinath Dham and Kedarnath Dham from Sunday morning. The devotees present in the Dham also got the opportunity to see this beautiful view.
With the first snowfall of the season, it has started getting cold in the lower parts. Even today, the Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert regarding heavy rain in four districts of Uttarakhand, Dehradun, Nainital, Bageshwar and Pithoragarh. There are chances of light showers in other districts.
Continuous rain continues in Karnaprayag since Saturday night. Rishikesh-Badrinath highway has been blocked due to debris in Kameda around Gauchar. There is a queue of about 150 vehicles on both sides of the highway. Also, traffic is disrupted due to debris and stones in Harmani, Simalsain and Bainoli on Karnaprayag-Gwaladam National Highway. Here too many vehicles are stuck on both sides. JCB machines are being sent to open the highway. At the same time, crops have suffered a lot due to rain. Snowfall continues in the tourist places of Chamoli district, Vedni Bugyal, Auli Bugyal, Roopkund, Baguvabasa, Jeunaragali, Pataranchauniya, Kailva Vinayak.
Cold has increased in villages like Dewal, Tharali, Gwaldam, Melkhet, Van, Lohajung, Rampur, Torti, Jhalia, Kunwari, Saurigad, Benital, Nainisain, Nauti etc. Due to rain since last two days, life has become disrupted in the entire area. There is debris on the roads even in rural areas. The water level of Pindar and Kail rivers has increased.
At the same time, landslides have been going on in Kunwari village of Bageshwar for the last month. Due to which the water of Pindar river has also become muddy. Last year too, there was a landslide in an area of more than two kilometers in the virgin area. However, this village has been displaced.
Hem Mishra, a social worker of Dewal area, said that due to the entry of mud and silt in Pindar, the life of aquatic animals is in danger. Mahasheer fishes found in Pindar river are dying on the banks of the river due to mud filling in their gills.
