State President Mahendra Bhatt took the Congress to task and said that the issue-less and thoughtless opposition is doing politics on the death of late Ankita Bhandari. Because the family members of the victims and the people of the state are completely satisfied with the SIT investigation so far. It has also expressed satisfaction even to the court. But instead of accepting this truth, Congress is continuously engaged in a conspiracy to provoke the public by spreading confusion and deceiving them. Whereas on the instructions of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, prompt and strictest action was taken in this tragic incident. Gangster Act was imposed on all the accused and irrefutable evidence was collected using full technical means, as a result of which they all are behind bars awaiting punishment for their crimes. The government is strongly lobbying in the court in which the consent of the victim’s family is being taken into full consideration. As per his wish, the prosecution lawyer was also changed and all his suggestions are being taken seriously. He stressed that our government and organization are fully committed to providing justice to Ankita’s soul and her grieving family and will not rest until the culprits are given the harshest punishment for their crimes.
Bhatt said that no one can compensate for the loss caused by the death of late Ankita, but the BJP government is continuously trying to reduce the pain of the grieving family and provide all possible support. An amount of Rs 25 lakh was given to the family by the government for financial support, and Ankita’s brother was also offered appointment in THDC. The people of our government and organization are in constant touch with them and we are committed to provide whatever necessary help or cooperation is required by them.
Accusing the Congress, he said, the Dhami government arrested the accused in this tragic incident within 24 hours and recovered the dead body within 48 hours, whereas the people of the state have also seen the era of Congress governments when such crimes against women were rampant. So it took weeks for the FIR to be registered. The public kept agitating for action and their government was busy protecting the culprits and complicating the case. Taking a jibe at Congress, he said, the people of Uttarakhand have not forgotten anything, hence their leaders should cooperate with the government and the public in the fight to get justice for Ankita in the court.
The state president said, the truth is that the victim’s family and the public are completely satisfied with the action taken by the Dhami government so far, but the Congress leaders are not able to digest it. The people even tried to convince their leaders by staying away from all the programs organized by the Congress on these issues, but their leaders were so angry with the failure of their political conspiracy that they became bent on insulting the people of Garhwal and Uttarakhand.
