Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has blamed Punjab and Haryana on air pollution in Uttar Pradesh. CM said that ‘day before yesterday the Supreme Court issued notice to 5-6 states including Punjab, Haryana, UP and Delhi on pollution. While going to Delhi, I landed in Ghaziabad. As soon as I got out of the plane, my eyes started burning and I realized it was because of the smog.
CM said that then I checked the satellite images of NASA and found that the entire Punjab and northern part of Haryana were looking ‘red’. When the wind blew from these states, Delhi was covered in darkness.

What is the condition of Noida Ghaziabad?
On Friday, Noida’s AQI was 388 and PM10 concentration was 377, both under the ‘very poor’ category. Same is the situation in Greater Noida. According to the data of Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board, AQI has reached 493 in Knowledge Park 3 of Greater Noida. If we talk about the data of entire Greater Noida, then AQI has reached 485. The overall figure in Ghaziabad remains 418. The situation is going from bad to worse in Loni area of Ghaziabad. According to the data of Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board, AQI has reached 492 here.
An AQI between zero and 50 is considered ‘good’, 51 and 100 ‘satisfactory’, 101 and 200 ‘moderate’, 201 and 300 ‘poor’, 301 and 400 ‘very poor’ and 401 and Anything between 500 is considered ‘severe’.
Central Air Pollution Commission has implemented Graded Response Action Plan-3 in the entire NCR. As soon as Grape-3 came into force, construction work has been banned. Also, a ban has been imposed on driving BS-3 and BS-4 vehicles. Schools up to class five have been closed in Delhi. Schools in Noida and Greater Noida have also been advised to start online studies.
