SC will get 3 more new judges, collegium recommends names of three High Court Chief Justices
The Supreme Court Collegium on Monday (November 6) recommended promotion of three High Court Chief Justices to the Supreme Court.
These include the names of Delhi High Court Chief Justice Satish Chandra Sharma, Rajasthan High Court Chief Justice Augustin George Masih and Gauhati High Court Chief Justice Sandeep Mehta.

Actually, the total sanctioned posts of judges in the Supreme Court are 34, out of which 3 posts are vacant. The collegium includes Chief Justice DY Chandrachud, Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul, Justice Sanjeev Khanna, Justice BR Gavai and Justice Surya Kant.
Who is Satish Chandra Sharma?
Satish Chandra Sharma was born on 30 November 1961 in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. At the age of just 42, Sharma has been a senior advocate in Madhya Pradesh High Court.
Then Sharma was made Madhya Pradesh High Court Additional Judge in 2008. Two years later, i.e. in 2010, he was appointed permanent judge.
Chief Justice of Delhi High Court Satish Chandra Sharma was appointed on 28 June 2022.
Who is Augustine George Christ?
Augustin George Masih was born on 12 March 1963. Masih was made the Additional Judge of Punjab and Haryana High Court on 10 July 2008. Then he was appointed permanent judge on 14 January 2011.
Masih is holding the post of Chief Justice of Rajasthan High Court from 30 May 2023.
