Rajasthan / Udaipur: Girlfriend got engaged somewhere else, unhappy lover blew himself up by tying a ‘detonator’ to his body; neck separated from torso

Late on Sunday night, a young man tied a detonator to his body and blew himself up in Rishabhdev police station area of Udaipur district of Rajasthan. Deputy Superintendent of Police (Rishabhdev) Heramb Joshi said that 24-year-old Nilesh Meena committed suicide by tying a detonator (explosive material used in mining) and detonating it in Obari village of Masaro late on Sunday night.

Villagers came out after hearing the sound of the explosion, dead body was lying on the road

He said that preliminary investigation revealed that the deceased was having an affair with a girl from the village and he was upset due to the girl’s engagement with someone else. Since both of them belonged to the same Gotra, marriage could not take place between them. For this reason, he committed suicide by tying a detonator near the girl’s house. Due to the suicide bomb blast, the neck was separated from the torso and the body was torn into pieces. When the villagers came out after hearing the sound of the explosion on Sunday night, they saw the body of Nilesh Meena lying on the road. Police handed over the body to the relatives after post-mortem on Monday.

Detonator is used for blasting in mines

Police is investigating from where and from whom Nilesh had brought the detonator. But the Rishabhdev area where Nilesh’s village is located has marble mines. Here detonators are used for blasting in mines. In such a situation, there is also a suspicion that he may have brought it illegally from his acquaintance. The family members of the deceased have registered a case under section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code against the girl’s family. The police is investigating the matter
