Uttarakhand: The capital Dehradun was on high alert in view of the President’s visit, yet a filmy style robbery took place at Reliance Jewelers in broad daylight.

There was a stir due to robbery in Reliance’s jewelery showroom located on Rajpur Road. Police were in security arrangements due to the President’s visit. The incident was carried out as soon as the showroom opened in the morning. Thieves looted the entire showroom.

On Thursday, the miscreants escaped after committing a robbery in Reliance’s jewelery showroom within 10 minutes. The miscreants had come in a car. The police have now claimed to have imposed a blockade. But in two hours the miscreants would have gone far beyond the state border. The miscreants left, mocking the security everywhere.

The showroom opened at around 10:30 in the morning. Five people entered inside posing as customers and held the employees hostage at gunpoint. Employees were locked in the pantry. Everyone’s hands were tied with plastic rope. The miscreants looted diamonds and gold jewelery worth crores of rupees from here.

The entire city was on high alert in view of the President’s visit. Despite this, the miscreants defied all security arrangements and carried out the incident. All the jewelers and officials of the Bullion Board have also reached the spot.
