The entire country’s eyes are on the rescue operation to safely bring out 41 laborers trapped in the Uttarkashi Silkyara Tunnel. There is a slight delay in starting the rescue work today. In fact, the rescue teams that were drilling in the Silkyara Tunnel since Thursday night faced many obstacles one after the other. Now those obstacles have been removed.
Rescue will be completed by this evening
Former PMO advisor Bhaskar Khulbe who has been camping at the Silkyara Tunnel rescue site since November 18. Khulbe said that ground penetration radar study has shown that there is no obstruction for the next 5 meters inside the tunnel. Former PMO advisor Bhaskar Khulbe said that we hope that we will take the workers out of the tunnel safely this evening.
Newly designed auger machine platform
Bhaskar Khulbe said that the situation is now much better than before. Thursday night we had to work on two things. First, we had to redesign the platform of the machine. Actually, the platform of the American Auger machine had collapsed on Thursday. Now this platform has been given a new look and is ready for work. Secondly, Parsons Company did the work of ground penetration radar. From this we came to know that there is no metal barrier in the way of the tunnel for the next 5 meters. This means that our drilling must be smooth. When we were removing debris, we found two broken pipes. In fact, on Thursday night, when the rescue work in Uttarkashi Tunnel was moving towards its final stage, suddenly a steel pipe came in between. He had stopped the drilling work. Then that pipe had to be cut and removed.
Along with this, Union Minister General VK Singh (retired) has also reached the rescue site Silkyara Tunnel. It is here that relief and rescue operations are going on to rescue the workers trapped in the tunnel for the last 13 days. General VK Singh is in Uttarkashi since Thursday. Meanwhile, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has been camping at the rescue site since Wednesday. From time to time, the CM is also talking to the workers trapped inside the tunnel. Assuring them that their safe rescue is going to happen soon.
