Know the standards of Air Quality Index
According to the standards set by the Pollution Control Board, an air quality index of zero to 50 is considered good. This is a good condition of the environment in terms of health. An air quality index of more than 51 to 100 is seen as satisfactory. This index is considered harmful for mild problems and sensitive people. After this, an air quality index of 101 to 200 is seen as normal, which is considered bad for people suffering from lungs, asthma and heart disease.
Air quality index from 201 to 300 is poor
The bad condition of air pollution is considered to be from 201 to 300, which is called poor and people may have difficulty breathing in it. Also, this situation is problematic for most people. The worst condition is considered to be 301 to 400, which is considered very poor and physical weakness develops if one stays in such a condition for a long time. Whereas, the worst condition is 401 to 500 Air Quality Index, which is considered a serious condition and in this condition even healthy people can face many kinds of diseases, while this condition is most harmful for sick people.
Pollution standards returned to normal again
Parag Madhukar Dhakate, Member Secretary of Uttarakhand Pollution Control Board, said that this time many efforts were made to make people aware, despite this, the pollution situation in most of the cities of the state went from normal to bad on the night of Diwali. He said that the situation in Haridwar city has been somewhat better than last year’s Diwali. There has been a decrease in pollution on November 1 and the pollution standard has now returned to normal again.
These efforts were made to control air pollution: Uttarakhand Pollution Control Board had started monitoring a week before Diwali this time. Along with making people aware before Diwali, all the municipal administrations tried to reduce pollution by sprinkling water. Apart from this, spraying was also done by the Pollution Control Board with the help of drones, so that the dust particles in the atmosphere can be reduced. At the same time, the Pollution Control Board will monitor all the cities for the next one week regarding environmental pollution.
