41 workers trapped in the tunnel due to the collapse of a part of the under-construction Silkyara Tunnel on Yamunotri National Highway in Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand were rescued safely on the 17th day on Tuesday. Dr Narendra Kumar, assistant professor of hospital administration at AIIMS Rishikesh, said it was difficult to say how much time the staff would spend in the hospital. Only after a preliminary evaluation will be done by a team of doctors will we be able to say clearly. He will probably have to stay here for 24 hours.
After preliminary examination of the workers sent to All India Institute of Ayurvedic Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh, the AIIMS Hospital administration has issued a health bulletin of the workers. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has announced that an incentive amount of Rs 50,000 will be given to all the personnel working in the rescue operation inside the Silkyara Tunnel.
