Bihar: After sterilization, the woman gave birth to 3 children, the surgeon said – how did this happen, we will investigate
Recently, CM Nitish Kumar came into limelight while speaking on population control in Bihar. Now a surprising case related to the government’s family planning scheme has come to light. Even after sterilization, the woman has given birth to three children. Before this she had given birth to four children. He has appealed to the health department officials in this matter.
The latest case is from Kevatsa village of Gaighat area of Muzaffarpur district. Julie Devi (35), who lives here, got sterilization done in the government hospital of Gaighat in 2015. After this she gave birth to three children. Now in this matter the family members have filed a complaint with the then Civil Surgeon and demanded compensation.
Wife’s sterilization was done in the camp organized in PHC
According to the woman’s husband Neeraj Kumar Singh, he earns his living by working as a labourer. He got married 20 years ago. Daughter Komal Kumari was born in 2008, son Kisu Kumar in 2009, daughter Vaishnavi in 2011 and Kishmi Kumari in 2013. After this, in order to keep the family limited, on the advice of the doctor, his wife got sterilized in the camp organized at Gaighat PHC in 2015.
Doctor gives injection to keep gap between children
The wife became pregnant again in 2018, three years after the operation. He informed this to the then District Magistrate. The District Magistrate ordered an investigation. During the investigation itself, two children were born in 2018 and 2020. Meanwhile, the then civil surgeon gave a compensation of Rs 6,000 to the wife. Then an injection was given to keep the gap between the children.
If you vomited after the injection, get tested
When investigation was done on the complaint of vomiting after injection, it was found that the wife was pregnant again. Now he has been visiting the health department for the last 9 years to complain about the failure of sterilization operation and to take action against the concerned doctor. But, no help is available.

In this case, civil surgeon in-charge Gyan Ranjan said that the matter of having 3 children even after family planning has come to his notice. Usually, even if planning fails, there is still one child. But, how the three children were born is being investigated.
