Uttarakhand / Chamoli: Woman slips while cutting grass in forest, dies after falling into ditch
A woman who had gone to cut grass in Helang forest in Chamoli slipped and fell into a deep ditch. The woman died on the spot after falling into the ditch. There is mourning among the woman’s family after the incident.
A woman who went to cut grass in the forest fell into a ditch
The deceased woman was identified as Pooja Devi (30), wife of Kuldeep Lal, resident of Salud village. Pooja Devi had gone to Helang forest to collect grass. According to the information, while cutting grass, the woman’s foot slipped and she fell into the ditch. The local people immediately informed the police about the incident.
Police sent the body for postmortem
After receiving the information, the police team and SDRF personnel reached the spot. The rescue team pulled the woman out of the ditch. But by then the woman had died. According to the information, Joshimath police station in-charge Rakesh Bhatt said that the police have taken out the body from the ditch and sent it for post-mortem.
