Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the Scheduled Caste People’s Representatives Conference of Garhwal division at a hotel on GMS Road on Monday. The Chief Minister said that the mantra of survival, identity and self-reliance given by Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar to the Scheduled, Dalit and forest dwelling communities is being spread in the entire country under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. On the basis of Pandit Deendayal’s theory of Antyodaya, when a person sitting at the last rung of the society will sit on the throne of power, it will be the time of Antyodaya to the rise of the nation. He said that the ascension of Ramnath Kovind and then Mrs. Draupadi Murmu to the post of President is the fulfillment of the dream seen by them. The Chief Minister-designate of Chhattisgarh also represents the tribal area. It is also a wonderful tribute to India’s democratic values and ideals. He said that our double engine government is committed to making the scheduled society strong and self-reliant.
The Chief Minister said that the scheduled society has also made an important contribution in India’s freedom struggle. Till date, the country has been kept in the dark about the contribution made by the tribal society in nation building and even if it was told, it was told within a very limited scope. But today, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the country has woken up and now no one can play with its culture and history. He said that before 2014, the governments lacked the necessary political will to advance the Scheduled, Dalit and Tribal communities and no attention was paid to the business interests of this society. Since 2014, the Modi-led government in the country has made many new experiments for the development of the scheduled, Dalit, exploited and tribal communities. Today, whether it is the field of education or the field of medicine, the governments of the country and the state are making all their plans keeping in mind the interests of the scheduled, Dalit and tribal communities.
The Chief Minister said that in the last nine years, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, many such schemes have been implemented for the people of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, so that these sections of the society can join the mainstream of development. Every year, while necessary increases were made in the general budget for the welfare of SCs and STs, many major decisions were also taken to strengthen their economic, educational and social status. Under the Pradhan Mantri Adarsh Gram Yojana, those villages were developed into model villages, in which 50 percent of the population belonged to SC and ST categories. In other schemes including Ujjwala Gas Connection Scheme, tap water to every house, priority was given to the poor, exploited, deprived, tribals and Dalits, while free treatment of this section was ensured through Ayushman Scheme.
The Chief Minister said that after the tireless efforts of the Prime Minister, Article 370 was abolished from Kashmir. Jammu and Kashmir was the only state in the country where residents of Scheduled Castes and Tribes did not get the benefit of reservation. As soon as Section 370 was removed, those people started getting the benefits of reservation. The Chief Minister said that the temple of Lord Ram has started taking a grand form. Today, invitations for the inauguration of Lord Ram Temple have started reaching every house, this holy temple is going to be opened for Ram devotees at the hands of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The day the Prime Minister performed the Bhoomi Pujan of the Ram temple, his Dalit brother Mahavir’s family got its first prasad. We have a tradition of believing in social harmony. He said that work is being done with dedication by the state government for the development of Scheduled, Dalit and Tribal communities in Uttarakhand. The Chief Minister expressed hope that in the nectar of the country’s independence, under the blessings of Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar and the leadership of the Prime Minister, the country and the state will definitely be successful in fulfilling its nectar resolutions and the flag of Vishwa Guru India will wave all over the world.
