Not a single case of Corona in Uttarakhand, Uttarakhand Health Department ready to deal with every situation – Dr. R Rajesh Kumar

Uttarakhand Health Department is on full alert mode after new cases of Covid were reported in the country. After issuing the Covid guidelines, Health Secretary Dr R Rajesh Kumar has started daily monitoring. In view of the new variant of Covid, a meeting was organized today in the State Secretariat under the chairmanship of Health Secretary Dr R Rajesh Kumar. District Magistrates, Chief Medical Officers and Health Officers of all the districts were present in the meeting through virtual medium. Health Secretary Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar said that not a single case of corona has been reported in Uttarakhand yet. Along with detailed guidelines regarding the new variant of Corona, instructions have been issued to keep all the arrangements in hospitals tight. The health department is fully prepared to deal with every situation. Appealing to the general public, he said that everyone should follow the Corona guidelines. Sampling is being done in all the hospitals of the state. Suspicious patients are being monitored.
In an important meeting held in the Secretariat regarding Covid, the Health Secretary directed the officials that Covid should be tested through RTPCR. He said that genome sequencing of all Covid positive samples should be done. Continuous monitoring of Covid patients should be conducted and public awareness campaigns should be conducted. It should also be ensured that there is no shortage of medical facilities in any health units.
Emphasis was also laid on daily monitoring of Covid by the Secretary. He said that there are zero cases of Covid in the state and the guidelines received from the Government of India regarding the new variant JN.1 are also being followed. Secretary Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar, while directing all the District Magistrates, said that all the District Magistrates should not allow the stigma related to Covid to increase among the general public and should only follow the official information issued by the Health Department.
The meeting was attended by Director General of Health Dr. Vineeta Shah, Additional Secretary Health Amandeep Kaur, Joint Director of Medical Education Dr. Mahendra Kumar Pant, Program Officer Dr. Pankaj Kumar and principals of all medical colleges including the state and district IDSP team.
