Uttar Pradesh: ‘Baba’s bulldozer’ runs on 1200 houses in Lucknow, wants to build ‘river’, all were paying taxes for 60 years!

In order to re-establish the Kukrail river (present-day Kukrail drain) as a river in the middle of Lucknow city, this morning Baba’s bulldozer ran on 1200 illegal houses and 102 shops situated on its banks, which was also heavily opposed. On Thursday, in the midst of the demolition action by LDA, which continued from morning to afternoon, the advocates reached there with an order from the High Court and the action was stopped.

Let us tell you that 102 shops and 1200 houses of Akbar Nagar are coming under the jurisdiction of Kukrail Riverfront. In this regard, LDA had ordered demolition action. In such a situation, local people and businessmen had filed a petition in the High Court against this order. On Thursday morning, LDA reached Akbar Nagar with heavy police force for demolition action. This construction is more than 50-60 years old and government roads are also built here and the Municipal Corporation is also collecting taxes from here.

During this time, LDA VC Indramani Tripathi, DCP Central Aparna Rajat Kaushik, many departmental officers of LDA and heavy police force were present. Even before the bulldozer action was taken, the local people started creating ruckus. The heavy police force present at the spot somehow pacified the matter. After this, people started vacating their houses crying.

Akbar Nagar Phase One and then Akbar Nagar Phase Two were built illegally a few years ago on the land of Kukrail River. Which was declared illegal by LDA and notice was given to the people living there. In the morning, LDA deployed bulldozers and demolished some shops and houses. Meanwhile, advocates, BJP Mandal President Mangal and local people started protesting. Then some lawyers arrived with the order letter of the High Court, on the basis of the order the LDA officials completely stopped the demolition till the next hearing on 22 January.

SP chief Akhilesh Yadav has opposed this action, he wrote – Governments are there to build houses, not to run bulldozers on houses. Before demolishing someone’s house, if you check the legality of the houses, offices, shops and business establishments of the BJP people, you will find that most of the illegal occupation and construction has been done by the BJP people.

LDA Vice President Dr. Indramani Tripathi, Deputy Commissioner of Police Aparna Rajat Kaushik and other officers who reached the spot for demolition action returned in the evening. During the operation on the banks of Kukrail river, vehicles passing through there were diverted, due to which there was jam on some major roads.
