Uttarakhand: Dhami cabinet approved 19 proposals, new guidelines issued for BKTC, discussion regarding UCC

The Cabinet meeting was held at the Secretariat today under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. This meeting was very important in view of the recently held Global Investor Summit 2023. In the meeting, it was decided to give Rs 1 lakh instead of Rs 50 thousand to the students preparing for Mains after clearing UPSC and Defense Forces prelims. Also, under the ‘Chief Minister Mahalaxmi Yojana’, the kit which was given on the birth of two girls, will now be available even on the birth of a boy.

Increased amount of employee group insurance

In the cabinet meeting, it has been decided to increase the amount given for employee group insurance. In this sequence, the value of insurance was also increased. Also, under the Housing Development Department, a decision has been taken to ban construction work in 11 towns up to a distance of 200 meters for the next one year, so that better town ships can be developed around the Rishikesh-Karnprayag railway line.

UCC discussed in cabinet meeting

Cabinet Minister Dhan Singh Rawat, Animal Husbandry Minister Saurabh Bahuguna, Cabinet Premchandra Aggarwal and Agriculture Minister Ganesh Joshi mainly participated in the cabinet meeting. At the same time, Cabinet Minister Subodh Uniyal, Tourism Minister Satpal Maharaj and Sports Minister Rekha Arya could not attend the meeting as they were out of the city. Information regarding UCC was also taken in the cabinet meeting.

Important decisions of cabinet meeting

  • It has been decided to authorize the State Industrial Development Authority (SIDA) to approve maps of all the industrial areas of the state.
  • Under the Food Department, Antyodaya and BPL card holders will get 1 kg iodine salt at the rate of Rs 8 per month.
  • The Cabinet approved the decisions taken so far by the committee under the Uniform Civil Code.
  • Approval given to make two manuals for personnel and religious functions in Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee under the Department of Culture, Endowment and Pilgrimage.
  • Now under Chief Minister Mahalaxmi Yojana, kit will be available even after the birth of a child.

Under the Housing Development Department, in order to develop better townships around the Rishikesh-Karnprayag railway line, construction work in 11 towns has been banned up to a distance of 200 meters for the next one year. Development of these areas will be done according to the fixed master plan. Which includes Yoganagari Rishikesh, Shivpuri, Byasi, Sirala, Chilgarh-Malla, Maletha, Srinagar, Dhari Devi, Tilani, Gholtir, Gauchar.

It has been decided to remove the ban on 195 posts of dependents of deceased in the Transport Corporation which were frozen earlier.

Amendment in the building construction and development bye-laws under the housing department has been approved. Under which petrol pumps can be built at a distance of 5 meters from small drains. For the remaining distance of 50 meters will remain the same.

The premium rates in the State Employees Group Insurance Scheme have been revised. Under which the amount of the insurance scheme has been increased from Rs 100 to Rs 350, Rs 200 to Rs 700 and Rs 400 to Rs 1400. Also, now it has been decided to increase the amount provided as insurance from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 5 lakh, Rs 2 lakh to Rs 10 lakh and Rs 4 lakh to Rs 20 lakh.

Keeping in mind the demands of various employee organizations, it has been decided to implement the relaxation in promotion rules till June 30, 2024.

  • Candidates who pass the pre-examination in UPSC and NDA and other examinations of Defense Forces under the Personnel Department will now get an amount of Rs 1 lakh instead of Rs 50 thousand.
  • Under the Home Department, a decision has been taken to recruit 327 new posts for constables and SI for 6 new police stations and 21 police posts which were brought into the regular police from the revenue.
  • It has been decided to create 9 posts for pet hospital in Dehradun under the Animal Husbandry Department.
  • Till now, veterinary mobile vans are being operated in 60 development blocks under the Animal Husbandry Department with the help of the Central Government, but now for the remaining 35 development blocks, the state government will arrange vans from its own resources.
  • For the arrangement of veterinary hospitals under the Animal Husbandry Department, now the hospitals will deposit 75 percent of the user charge for themselves and the remaining 25 percent in the treasury.
  • Due to shortage of senior residents in PG in government medical colleges in the state, it has now been decided to increase its duration to two years instead of one year.
  • Under the Rural Development Department, it has been decided to convert the posts identified as Chief Development Officer, Uttarkashi and Chamoli into the post of Deputy Commissioner Project.
  • A decision has also been taken regarding the creation of certain sanctioned posts in the structure of the Information Technology Development Agency.
  • Provisions of recruitment rules of government servants who died during service. Promulgation of rules regarding appointment of deceased family members to any post of government service, except such posts which fall within the scope of Public Service Commission.
