Uttarakhand: The third “Bal Yuva Samagam-2023” was organized by USRC. Inc. Event organized in Barkot, Uttarkashi

Uttarakhand Science Education and Research Center (USARC), Dehradun (Information and Science Technology Department, Government of Uttarakhand) organized the third “Bal Yuva Samagam-2023” today on 23 December 2023 at Government Inter College Barkot, Uttarkashi. Welcoming the guests present at the program, USRC Director Prof. (Dr.) Anita Rawat said in her address that USRC’s effort is to develop scientific interest among the students and our students should be aware of the new work happening in the field of science and technology in the country and abroad and do their experimental work with innovation. Move forward. He said that USRC is working on five major work areas focusing on research and development, strengthening of laboratories, environment and conservation, technology-based science education, social outreach programs etc. Professor Anita Rawat said that USRC is setting up 200 science awareness centers in all 13 districts of the state, setting up 54 STEM laboratories, providing free e-content under technology-based science education, as well as focusing on holistic and coordinated development. 12 entrepreneurship development centers have been established in the entire state, out of which one center, Mushroom Spawn Production Center, has been established in Naugaon with the help of HARC.
Former Chairman of Uttarakhand Public Service Commission and renowned physicist Professor (Dr.) Jagmohan Singh Rana, present in the program, said in his address that science is auspicious, yoga is well-being, development, inspiration, life etc. everything is necessary for science. How conscious we are about science today. India is the mother of earth science
To make India a world leader, we all will have to work together, the ground work will have to proceed with the understanding of science. Professor Rana said that we are all unique and have to fundamentally edit our actions.
In the program, more than 30 schools of Uttarkashi district displayed their science models in the science exhibition organized at the Children’s Youth Conference of USRC, which was reviewed by the expert committee, the result of which was as follows:
- First Place: Government Inter College, Rajgarhi
- Second place: Government Inter College, Bhankoli
- Third Place: Government Inter College, Nagaon
- First Consolation Prize: Government Inter College, Barnigad
- Second Consolation Prize: Saraswati Vidya Mandir Inter College, Tiloth
The team securing first place in the science exhibition will receive a certificate of Rs 10000/- (ten thousand), the team securing second prize will receive Rs 7000/- (seven thousand rupees) and the team securing third prize will receive Rs 5000/-. – (Five thousand rupees), and a check of Rs 2000/- (two thousand rupees) was given to the school that received the consolation prize.
In the program, the top 5 students in the high school examination in the year 2022-23 session in Uttarkashi district, Ms. Komal, Narayan Joshi, Ms. Anshika, Krishna Singh Rana, Narayan Joshi, Manish Chauhan and the top five students in the intermediate examination were Ms. Himani, Divyansubhatt, Ms. Meera Awasthi, Ms. Ayushi Nautiyal, Swaraj Chand Ramola were given a check of Rs 5000/- (Five thousand rupees), citation and memento by the guests.
Presiding over the program, Purola Assembly MLA Honorable Durgeshwar Lal ji said in his address that today India is continuously progressing in the field of science and technology. Today everything is science based. We have to move forward by adopting science in daily life.
The guests present at the program inaugurated the USERK STEM Laboratory established at Government Inter College, Badhakot.
The school students presented various cultural programs in the programme. In the program, science communicator Sohan Singh Rawat taught various science-based concepts to the students by demonstrating various science experiments related to daily life.
Block Education Officer Ajit Bhandari, former block chief Sulochana Gaur, BJP District Vice President Mukesh Tomta, former District Panchayat President Govind Ram Nautiyal, Chandi Prasad Benjwal, Naresh Rawat, Avtar Singh Chauhan, Principal Manoj Rahi, Dr. Manmohan Singh Rawat, USRC were present in the program. More than 650 students participated in the entire program including scientists Dr. Manju Sundriyal, Dr. Bhavatosh Sharma, Dr. Rajendra Singh Rana, Ramesh Rawat, Rajdeep Jung, Shivani Pokhriyal, Dr. Renu Bahuguna and team from Core University Roorkee.
The program was conducted by USRC scientists Dr. Om Prakash Nautiyal and Pramod Rawat. The vote of thanks for the program was given by the school principal Manoj Rahi.
Dr. J.V., retired joint director of the medical department, was present as a special guest in the program. S. Praising the work of USRC, Rana described the Bal Yuva Samagam as very useful. Former Municipality Chairman Atul Rawat said that today’s program is going to provide guidance to the students. Former Municipality President and former District Panchayat President Jashoda Rana said that we have to move forward with a bigger goal and take our country forward.
As a special guest in the program, BJP state spokesperson Manveer Chauhan said in his address that today the students will have to take the work related to science education much further, will have to move forward with interest in the field of science and will have to move forward according to the new education policy.
