At the same time, three people have been confirmed dead due to infection in the last 24 hours. With this, the number of active Corona patients has increased to 4,309. The Health Ministry gave this information on Sunday. According to the data released by the ministry, one person each died of infection in Kerala, Karnataka and Bihar in 24 hours.

Earlier, by December 5, the number of daily cases had come down to double digits. In almost four years from the beginning of 2020 till now, more than 4.5 crore people have been infected with Corona virus across the country and more than 5.3 lakh people have died due to it. According to the Health Ministry website, the number of people who have recovered from the infection so far has exceeded 4.4 crore. The national recovery rate is 98.81 percent. According to the ministry, 220.67 crore doses have been given so far under the anti-Covid-19 vaccination campaign in the country.
Cases of sub-variant JN.1 of the virus?
At the same time, a total of 162 cases of sub-variant JN.1 of Corona virus have been reported in the country so far. Among these, Kerala has the highest number of people infected with this sub-variant at 83, while Gujarat is in second place with 34 cases. According to the data, many states have reported a rise in Covid cases in the last few weeks and nine states and union territories have so far confirmed infection with the sub-variant JN.1 of the virus.
17 cases of JN.1 were found in November
According to INSACOG, 83 cases of infection with sub-variant JN.1 of corona virus are in Kerala, 34 in Gujarat, 18 in Goa, 8 in Karnataka, 7 in Maharashtra, 5 in Rajasthan, 4 in Tamil Nadu, 2 in Telangana and Delhi. 1 case has been confirmed. According to INSACOG data, 145 people were confirmed to be infected with JN.1 in the country in December, while 17 such cases were reported in November.
