Drivers parked the buses at Kaiserbagh bus depot in Lucknow. Due to which the passengers going to the surrounding districts of Lucknow like Lakhimpur, Hardoi, Sitapur had to face a lot of problems, while the passengers at Alambagh, the other bus stand of the capital Lucknow also had to face similar problems and had to travel further on foot. People traveling in public transport faced problems

Similar picture was seen in different districts of Uttar Pradesh including Greater Noida, Gorakhpur, Jhansi. Where bus and taxi drivers refused to drive their vehicles today. Roads were blocked at many places. There was a complete strike at many places. Commuters had to face a lot of problems and people traveling in public transport faced a lot of problems in the New Year.

Why is there protest?

Let us tell you that this whole controversy is due to the new law regarding hit and run. Recently, the Central Government has brought a new law regarding hit and run. According to this, till now in the case of hit and run, the driver used to get bail from the police station and there was a provision of punishment of only 2 years. Now there is a provision for a maximum punishment of 10 years for the driver along with a fine of Rs 7 lakh. Due to which it is being opposed from all sides.
