Uttarakhand: Ban on buying and selling of land to outsiders, Dhami’s effective step towards strict land law – Mahendra Bhatt
BJP has described the ban on buying and selling of agricultural land by outsiders as an effective step towards strict land laws. State President Mahendra Bhatt, while expressing his gratitude to Chief Minister Dhami, has assured the people of the state to bring laws in accordance with the public sentiments.
Responding to this decision taken on the eve of New Year, Bhatt termed it as respect for the sentiments of the people of the state and the commitment of the BJP government towards strict land law. Praising the decision of Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami, he said that he takes the issues coming from the society seriously and immediately takes appropriate and effective steps. Even before this, a high level committee was formed under the chairmanship of the former Chief Secretary in the direction of making strict land laws. Whose report is being examined by the drafting committee consisting of senior officers on the basis of constitutional, technical and legal aspects. Similarly, as soon as the Chief Minister came to notice of the irregularities in the purchase of agricultural land, he had earlier made it necessary for the District Magistrate to report on them. But now that the process regarding the land law is in a decisive phase, the ban on purchases by outsiders from the state is the right step and will remove the doubts of the people.
Assuring the people of the state, he said that the BJP government is completely serious on the issue of native land and land law and is working towards its decisive solution soon. BJP has always been in favor of the development of Devbhoomi as per the basic sentiments, needs and identity of the local people. BJP is the only one which has taken historic decisions consciously on the issues of the people of the state. Be it the matter of state building, be it the matter of giving special industrial package for progress and be it the matter of making law on land and love jihad to stop the cultural, religious and illegal encroachment of Devbhoomi. As far as land law is concerned, we are the only party which will bring the best and universally accepted solution to it.
Taking a dig at the opposition parties, he said that today all the parties including Congress have been completely exposed on all the issues related to public concerns. This is the reason why the public does not attend their programs and they make public unruly and derogatory comments on the conscience of the people of the state. On the other hand, seeing the gathering of people on public issues, they reach out among them and start shining their politics. But the public is aware of the reality of their thoughts and behavior and hence is never going to agree with them.
