Following complaints regarding admissions obtained using forged certificates during the Uttarakhand state centralized counseling for NEET-UG 2026, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has directed an expansion of the investigation’s scope. Now, the certificates of candidates availing benefits under all reserved categories will be scrutinized and verified. Strict action will be taken against any candidate found to be holding a forged certificate.
The Chief Minister had previously instructed officials to investigate the matter following an initial complaint. Investigations by the district administration have so far led to the cancellation of the certificates of eight candidates; consequently, their admission processes have also been annulled.
Scrutiny Across All Reserved Categories
An investigation at the district administration level is ongoing, prompted by suspicions that other candidates may also have used fabricated certificates across various reserved categories. The Chief Minister clarified that if any candidate’s certificate is found to be forged during the probe, it will be cancelled, and strict action will be taken against the guilty parties.
The Chief Minister stated that the government would not allow the interests of deserving candidates to be compromised at any stage. Describing admission based on forged certificates as a serious offense, he noted that officials were instructed to conduct a transparent investigation and take action as soon as such cases came to light.
He added that the scope of the investigation is now being extended to cover certificates from all reserved categories. Strict action, in accordance with the rules, will be taken against anyone found guilty during the verification process.
