STF raids companies making spurious drugs, 15 lakh pills, raw material worth more than one crore recovered

STF Uttarakhand has busted the spurious drug business. More than 15 lakh tablets and raw material worth more than one crore were recovered after raiding factories manufacturing counterfeit medicines in Bhagwanpur and Laksar in Haridwar and Saharanpur in UP. Medicines were being made in a closed factory in Bhagwanpur. They were sent by courier to different parts of the country.

The names of three people have also been known to the STF, who are being searched. SSP STF Ajay Singh said that people named Rashid and Nitin Prajapati were caught a few days ago from Innova Drug and Pharma Company lying closed in Bhagwanpur area. A car and counterfeit medicines worth Rs 4 lakh were recovered from them. During interrogation, it was told that Vishal and his partner Pankaj Kumar make counterfeit medicines in this company. After this, they are couriered through helper Rohtas. These medicines are sent by courier to different parts of the country.

During interrogation, it was found that the gang also runs a factory in Pipalhia village of Laksar. Along with this, Vishal has also opened a factory without a license in Kailashpur, Saharanpur. Here also he makes medicines under the names of different companies. STF raided these factories in Saharanpur and Laksar on Saturday night. A huge quantity of medicines and raw materials were recovered from here. As soon as the action of the STF was realized, the workers there fled. Vishal and Nitin are being sought in this case.

Rappers are made in Bhagwanpur only
The SSP said that wrappers for medicines are also made in the company located in village Sisauna of Bhagwanpur. Paper boxes and wrappers of well-known companies are printed here. STF is looking for people related to them. Sahib’s godown is also being told here. STF is also taking action on this.

Supply in rural medical store
These drugs are mostly consumed in rural areas. According to sources, the medicines are sold with the help of quacks. The administration rarely gets noticed at the drug store. In such a situation, these drugs are sold indiscriminately. However, STF is still preparing to break this entire chain as well. STF is currently interrogating people of courier companies as well.
