Uttarakhand : Passengers bus fell into a ditch in Uttarkashi, so far 25 people died in the accident

So far 25 people have died in the Yamuna valley after the bus of the passengers fell into the gorge. According to sources, the death toll may increase further. This bus has fallen into a gorge about 200 meters deep. On receiving the information, SDRF personnel have been engaged on relief work on the spot. SP Arpan Yadhuvanshi said that this accident happened in the direction of Naugaon, about 2 km from Damta. The passengers on the bus are residents of district Panna, Madhya Pradesh. Three ambulances have reached the spot. Relief rescue work is going on.

According to the information, 28 to 29 people were aboard the bus. Four to five people are said to be seriously injured, who have been admitted to the hospital for treatment. Chief Secretary Sukhbir Singh Sandhu has instructed all the officers to reach the spot. All the passengers are said to be from Madhya Pradesh. All the passengers were returning after having darshan from Yamunotri. It is being told that this accident has happened at Damta, which is the area near the border of Himachal-Uttarakhand.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed condolences to those “who have lost their loved ones” in the accident. “Under the supervision of the state government, the local administration is engaged in all possible assistance on the spot,” the Prime Minister’s Office tweeted.

The state administration and rescue teams are at the spot, informed Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, adding, he is keeping an eye on the situation after reaching the disaster control room.

Home Minister Amit Shah said he has spoken to the Chief Minister about the incident and said rescue operations were ongoing with injured were being taken to the nearest hospital.
