Soni Devi said that she has also heard that the name of the ‘VIP’ who was being talked about in the case is Ajay Kumar and no action has been taken against him either. Devi said that instead, the state government has filed a false case against social worker Ashutosh Negi, who was helping her in the case, and his wife has been transferred to Pithoragarh.
Ankita Bhandari was murdered in 2022
She said that if the case against Negi was not dropped soon and his wife’s transfer was not cancelled, she would sacrifice her life. It is noteworthy that in September 2022, 19-year-old receptionist Ankita, working at Vanantara Resort in Ganga Bhogpur area of Yamkeshwar, was allegedly pushed to death by resort operator Pulkit Arya along with two of his employees Saurabh Bhaskar and Ankit Gupta in the Chilla Canal near Rishikesh. Had murdered. It was alleged that Ankita was murdered for refusing to provide ‘extra service’ to a VIP. Later speaking to reporters, Mahara said that in view of the allegations made by Ankita’s mother, the entire episode should be investigated under the supervision of a serving judge of the High Court. He said that Ankita’s father Virendra Bhandari has also written a letter to the District Magistrate of Pauri making similar allegations. Mahara said that the name of Ajay Kumar, a big personality of BJP and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, has been revealed in the video and letter. If there is even an iota of truth in these allegations then action should definitely be taken.
Demand for investigation by judge
He said that we do not trust any agency, hence I demand investigation of the entire episode under the supervision of a serving judge of the High Court. Recently, in the murder case, JCB driver Deepak had given his testimony in the court that he had broken the boundary wall of the resort and the walls and windows of two rooms on the instructions of MLA Bisht and the Sub-Collector.
Congress said those who destroy evidence are also guilty
Referring to Deepak’s testimony, Mahara said that the perpetrator of the crime and the one who destroys the evidence of the crime are equally guilty and hence criminal cases should also be registered against the MLA and the then Sub-Collector in the matter. Mahara said that from the day of Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra starting on January 14, the State Congress will take out Ankita Bhandari Nyay Yatra at every block headquarters, every district headquarters and assembly constituency level in entire Uttarakhand and make the public aware of the exploits of BJP. BJP attacked Congress
