Uttar Pradesh: Bad news for madrasa teachers! After Centre, Yogi government also stopped honorarium
The Uttar Pradesh government has stopped the honorarium of madrasa teachers which was increased during the Akhilesh government. Earlier the Central Government had stopped the honorarium of Madrasa teachers and now the Yogi Government has also stopped it. Now no honorarium will be given to Madrasa teachers by the Central Government and the State Government. After this decision, the honorarium of about 25,000 madrasa teachers has ended.
According to the information, Madrasa Modernization Scheme which is running since 1993-94 is a scheme of the Central Government. Under this, teachers were appointed to teach Hindi, English, Science, Mathematics and Social Sciences in Madrasa. In the year 2008, this scheme for Provisioning Quality Education in Madrasa started being run in the name of Madrasa. Under this scheme, 25,000 teachers were hired, in which graduate teachers were given an honorarium of Rs. 6,000 and teachers who had done masters were given an honorarium of Rs. 12,000 per month.
There was an increase in Akhilesh government
In the year 2016, the Samajwadi Party government had decided to give an honorarium of Rs 2000 and Rs 3000 per month. After this, graduate madrasa teachers were being given an honorarium of Rs 8000 and postgraduate teachers were being given Rs 15000.
Why did the honorarium stop?
Actually, this scheme was approved by the Central Government only till 2021-22 in which honorarium was not already being given by the Central Government. Despite this, the system of additional honorarium which was given in the budget has been abolished. Now no financial sanction has been issued for this honorarium. For this reason, by sending orders to all the districts, payment of honorarium has been banned.
According to Hari Baksh Singh, Joint Secretary, Minority Welfare, the system of honorarium, which was being given extra, has been abolished and no budget or financial approval is being given for this honorarium. Its order has been sent to all the districts.
