‘Made him cough syrup, suffocated him with a pillow’, police revealed in Goa murder case, father performed last rites of innocent child
In Goa, a 4 year old innocent child was murdered by his own mother. His father performed the last rites in Bengaluru on Wednesday (January 10). In this murder case, a woman named Soochna Seth was arrested from Chitradurga, Karnataka.
The child’s father Vektarman PR, who hails from Kerala, lives in Indonesia. On receiving information about the child’s murder, he reached Bengaluru and then reached Chitradurga to complete the post-mortem formalities. After this, the child’s body was taken to Harishchandra Ghat in Rajaji Nagar where Raman performed the last rites.
Child died due to suffocation
Dr Kumar Naik, the government doctor who supervised the autopsy, revealed on Tuesday that the child was murdered more than 36 hours ago and was strangled. Dr. Naik said that there were no marks of injuries on the body, hence it is possible that she may have been suffocated using a pillow.
Dr Naik said, “She was killed by strangulation, probably using a cloth or pillow. The boy died due to strangulation. I don’t think he was murdered with hands, but with the help of an object like a pillow.
He further said, “The boy must have been murdered more than 36 hours ago. There was no injury on the body. The veins in the chest were swollen due to pressure on the neck. There was blood coming from the boy’s nose which is a sign of strangulation.”
Murder under a well-planned conspiracy
Police said on Wednesday that the murder of a four-year-old son by strangulation was a well-planned conspiracy and was planned well in advance. Apart from this, police officials also said that the child’s father Ventakaraman will cooperate in the investigation till the end of this week.
Goa Police officials said statements of about 12 witnesses were collated and the room at the Sol Banyan Grand Hotel in Candolim in North Goa was examined. Soochana Seth had checked-in in the same hotel room on January 6. Two empty bottles of Benadryl cough syrup were found here.
An officer investigating the case said, “Both the bottles were purchased from the hotel reception and were empty, possibly given to the child. We suspect that it was a premeditated murder. “Further interrogation of the accused will reveal some more facts on the case.”
