Why is Delhi in the grip of freezing cold?

According to meteorologists, due to lack of western disturbances, the capital Delhi is being hit by cold, fog and pollution more than usual. Generally, the areas of Delhi NCR experience drizzle due to western disturbances during the months of December and January. Due to this the temperature does not fall much. This time there have been five fewer western disturbances than normal in the months of December and January. Not only this, the intensity of the western disturbances that have come has been quite weak. Due to this, rainfall has also been 100 percent less than normal. This is why the people of Delhi are facing the triple attack of severe cold, dense fog and pollution.
